The Castle - Wellingborough - July - 2010 |
To the band, I saw you at the Castle in Wellingborough over the weekend; I have seen other Eagle's tribute bands in the past but not yourselves; and as every band is different, I was unsure what to expect. However, I was pleasently suprised. The concert was great!! As you said yourself on the night, there are so many Eagles favourites but I was very pleased when you played 'Heart of the matter' as it is my personal favoutire. I was disappointed for you that the seats weren't sold out but I think that when word gets round about how good a band you are, your concerts will be a sell out. I will certainly be spreading the word to all my friends. I look forward to seeing you again soon! Thanks for a great night! ........ Becka Chad Hi Guys, Thanks to you all, what a fantastic night at the Castle Theatre Wellingborough last evening. Sorry it wasn't a full house as your wonderful evenings entertainment deserved, I am convinced that not enough is done to let people know you are in the area? My two son's and I can't wait for your return, please make it soon, we will do our bit to drum up support. Keep up the great music. PS. I went to see the Eagles in Birmingham and although I am a great fan of their music, their live sound was poor. My family prefer to see and hear you..Thanks again. Mel Hi Guys, Just to say what a fantastic night we had last night at The Castle, Wellingborough. Great harmonies, great sound and great musicanship, just a pity there weren't more in the audience, they don't know what a great night they missed !! Looking forward to your return next and have already been on the phone to family and friends to let them know about you. Thanks to you all...Regards Kate and Terry Mitchell |
Swan Theatre - High Wycpmbe - June - 2010 |
Hi Just a short note to say thanks to you all for a truly great show - if you closed your eyes you would think the Eagles themselves were on stage... The great thing about these guys is that although they're a tribute band, they make it look so easy and not contrived. Particularly loved 'New York Minute' and 'Life's Been Good'.. We will be back when you are! ...Mike & Louise Clifton, Graham & Sarah Sillman.. Hi Guys, Just a quick word to say the show at High Wycombe was FANTASTIC.!!! Music great, and the vocal harmony was brilliant. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing you when you come round again........ Regards, Tony I have just got home after watching your show at a rather under populated theatre, I was so pleased that this did not dampen your enthusiastic performance. A "Truly professional" attitude came from the members of the band which made an extremely enjoyable night, I would like to thank you for your efforts tonight well done gents and if you come back to the Swan Theatrer at High Wycombe again I will make sure to watch you again ........Yours Clive and Lindsay Pocock |
The Anvil - Basingstoke - June - 2010 |
My partner Dave and I came to see you on the 19th June, at the Anvil, Basingstoke. What a fantastic night we had. Each and every one of you have such an amazing talent, which is second to none. I've seen some tribute bands before, but not of this calibre. You were all truly mindblowing. We can't wait for you all to come back, and we're reccommended you to all our friends as a must see band. Well it proves there's massive talent from the Midlands. [from one midlander to another LOL]......UTTER BRILLIANCE GUYS Hayley xxxxxx Hi Never done this before - I booked as a treat for my husband and am thrilled to say the concert didn't disappoint. A fantastic evening it was just a shame more people weren't there to experience - still their loss. Would definitely book again. Thank you for a great evening................. Best wishes jo Hi, Congratulations on a great show last night. This was the first time my wife and I had seen you. It was a shame there wasn't a bigger turnout, but I thought you dealt with that very well. The choice of tracks was good and played with great technique and great vocals especially the backing harmonies which were pretty tight. All in all a great show..... Kind regards, Stuart Cameron Hello Just to say I really enjoyed your concert at The Anvil Basingstoke Saturday Night.I am a big fan of The Eagles, and I thought your take on them was excellent. The young guitar player was really good and could have stood in for Joe Walsh. So more power to your elbow,or should I say your plectrums..... Regards Mr Roy Thorne Hi guys, My wife and I attending your concert in Basingstoke on 19th June 2010, and thought you were really excellent. The musicianship was outstanding, and the vocals spot on. The relaxed light humored banter gave the whole thing a cozy feel. I only wish more people had been at the theatre to enjoy the show. Look forward to seeing you again when you are in our area.......... Regards Alan & Sandie flockton (Andover) Hi! I just wanted to say how much my friends, my wife and I enjoyed the gig at the Anvil in Basingstoke earlier this evening. Your performance was excellent, and I've seen the Eagles live on two occasions. It was such a shame that the theatre was only about a third full, and I can only say that the other two thirds, whoever and wherever they were, missed on hell of a good evening. Great all round performances, both instrumentally and vocally. You were all great. Thanks guys ....... Geoff and Jill Buss |
Festival Theatre - Pitlochry - June - 2010 |
Hi guys, Just got home from Pitlochry and felt I had to comment on tonight's show. Absolutely brilliant! We really enjoyed the concert last year and our daughter joined us this time. We are Eagles fans and have been lucky enough to see them twice in Hampden Park, Glasgow. We have also attended other Eagles Tribute concerts three times but think that you are much better than they are......I booked three front row tickets as soon as they were on sale for Pitlochry. Money well spent. Thanks for a fantastic evening. Come back to see us soon............ Elizabeth Bond. Hi guys, Enjoyed your show last night - better than last year. The "young boy" Steve has a great voice for The Eagles. I thought he combined well with Chris both in song and banter, which was the big difference from last year. Finaly my wife and I were pleased to hear one of our fav`s "Love will keep us alive" Best success with the tour ...........................Gordon & Lyn Bonnington Hi guys, was at show on Sunday 13 june in Pitlochry. Show was absolutely fantastic, thanks for taking time to chat annd sign autographs. I was well chuffed, look forward to seeing you all next time u come to Scotland..........Christine.xxxxxx |
The Artrix - Bromsgrove - June - 2010 |
Hi Guys. Having seen the Eagles and other tribute Eagles bands on numerous occasions, I was slightly sceptical prior to the gig last evening. However, I was simply blown away by the quality of performance and my sincere congratulations for a simply superb evening of classic tracks enjoyed by my wife and I at the Artrix theatre. All the emotions of the original live performances were truly felt as tears were brought to my eyes during numerous lifetime favourites. Our apologies for not discovering you sooner, however, I guarantee that we and others will be in the audience for future performances. Looking forward to your versions from "Eden" in the future - no pressure guys ! Immense enjoyment, well done to you all - just a magic evening............. Ray and Linda Ravenall. Went to the above gig last night and was very impressed with the whole night. I would describe myself as an Eagles fan and have seen them live. I have also seen all the other Eagles Tributes quite a few times. At the start of the gig I thought that Desperado would not measure up, but as the show progressed I enjoyed the night more and more. Once you got to Joe walsh "lifes been good" I was sold and feel that Desperado are the premier eagles tribute outfit. Nick Mellor was outstanding, to say the least and was the great difference between the bands. Thanks for a great nightout, i will certainly see the band again ......... Cheers Kevin Wilkes Hi, Just thought I would comment on your performance last night at the Artrix in Bromsgrove. We both had a brilliant night and would like to congratulate you on amazing vocals and musicianship. About 10 years ago we went to see The Eagles live in Birmingham on their comeback tour and it was just like being there again only better as this time we could see the band! Definately will be looking out for your return visit.......... Regards Carol & Graham Just thought I'd say how much I and my 2 mates enjoyed your performance on Saturday night 10th June at the Artrix, Bromsgrove. My friend Colin came all the way down from Manchester on my recommendation after I heard you at the Artrix last year. With 6 in the band this year it gave an even wider array of vocal and musical talent. Well done to Chris and the boys - please come again to Bromsgrove.!........ John Legge |
Alban Arena - St Albans - May - 2010 |
Hi, Just wanted to say what a fantastic night we had last night at St Albans, thanks to the talented band. Sounds just like the real thing. We all need to be able to escape from the depressing times we are in right now and you all cheered us up no end. Eagles songs and the way you played and sang them last night they would be very proud of you all, so very very professional, and cannot wait to see you all again.Don't make us wait too long! Keep it up...... Mary & Richard Berry. Hey Chris, I and some friends were at your gig last night, St Albans; you're the third Eagles tribute band I've had the pleasure of seeing and in my opinion the best! Great tight sound with volume levels just right; congratulations to your sound man, like the band he did a great job....... it was a great night out and we really loved the show........ Len Excellent Eagles tribute, couldn’t be bettered. Thanks for a great evening, Good Luck for the future ....... Terry and Pat (Hemel Hempstead) |
Embassy Theatre - Skegness - April - 2010 |
Saw you last night at Skegness.you were brilliant! We will certainly come and see you again. You were all excellent musicians but being an ex guitarist myself I thought Nick, was awsome .........well worth the 80 mile round trip. Keep it up lads......... Tony and Jan. Great show again on Saturday, my friends were so impressed with you all, they were hoarse with singin along. One of them is a proper Eagles buff and he didn't stop praising you all the way home. See you soon, keep on rockin .... Steve and Jill Casey Hi We thought your concert Saturday night at Skegness was absolutely brilliant, keep up the good work boys, shame there wasn't that many people there but that was their misfortune as they are the losers, they missed a great night out. Hope that will not put you off coming back to Skeg as we would be first in line for tickets. Many thanks and good luck for the rest of your tour......... Joy & Colin in Friskney Hello lads saw you last night at the Embassy theatre Skegness what a brilliant night. Been a big Eagles fan for a long long time, went to see Hell Freezes over tour at Wembley blown away then but was also blown away last night. Never sure about tribute bands but desperado excellent. You made my wife's night by singing Love Will Keep Us Alive her all time favorite looking forward to seeing you again .........Colin and Karen Hendley (Wainfleet Lincs) |
The Wharf - Tavistock - April - 2010 |
Only the second time I have seen you guys and and just like the first i was blown away by how good you are. I wasn't an Eagles fan before i saw you but now i am both an Eagles fan and a Desperados fan. I especially loved Dirty Laundry...i was the looney bouncing around in the front like tigger !!! Cant wait another six months to see you so were gonna come to the gig in Cornwall your doing in June. Thanks for a brilliant evening, i could have stood there all night listening to you all. Quality music. xx ......... Linda Freeman xxxx Hi guys, I Came to the Tavisrock Wharf gig lastnight and have to say you absoloutly stormed the place. I have been to a fair few gigs there but nothing came close to you guys. I stood at the front and found it hard to take it all in as the entire band were fantastic. The eagles were my mums favourite band and just wish she was alive and there with us lastnight as she would have loved you. I hope you come back soon to the wharf and just wish we could book you for our wedding next year......... Regards. Lee Smith. Went to see you last night at the Wharf in Tavistock, absolutely brilliant show, had a wonderful evening! Thanks to you all. Look forward to seeing you again next year! ....... Carol Kinchlea Hi to you all....the chaps in "Talon" say Hello..!!!! Only kidding, although I expect you know them..!! Seven of us went to see you from nearby Plymouth, and as always, enjoyed the show immensely. The "new boy" Steve looks quite young,,,only around 30..but a great voice and performance..!! There was some other bloke on vocals...a Chris somebody...thinks he can perform like Don Henley.. I gather that Don Henley is sueing for his voice back... We were disappointed with the lead guitarist Nick...I mean..what does he know about augmented and diminished.. just about everything it seems...should try harder though...by the way, just how many fingers has he got...?? So,as an accomplished singer/guitarist myself..who plays in a local band..should you wish to reduce the quality of your performance..call me..?? See you in Polperro...have a great tour.........Paul Ellis(Plymouth) Hi guys We had a great evening at The Wharf with Desperado. You never quite know how good is band the first time to hear and see them, but you lived up to all expections, you held my attention for the whole evenong couldn't wait until the second half and would really would have enjoyed more!! I thought Steve had a great voice and of course what a great guitar player Nick is. You all blended together to make a great sound and I would certainly go to see you all again. Money well spent! Well done lads! Well done The Wharf.........Sunflowers Fantastic night - we came along not really sure what to expect but were very impressed and had a great time. The sound quality was incrediable and I was competely mesmerised by the skill of the guitarist Nick. And my boyfriend just wanted to steal the guitars! Hope you are coming back next year as one of my friends almost cancelled a family wedding to come! Hopefully see you next time! ......... Sarah Johnson Hi Guys Absolutely brilliant last night. Well worth the 100 mile round trip to see you. Played practically all my favourite Eagles tracks exactly how I remembered them. Hall for Cornwall - Truro - April - 2010 |
Hi guys Thankyou for a great evening a full Eagles treat. Loved your harmonies and the easy manner in your approach. Ken & Gwen To the whole band and support team Thank you for a magical night of real beautiful music, just as good as the REAL EAGLES. Deserves more than a standing ovation (if that's possible) Will be going to your next show please keep us informed......... Regards Cynthia & Peter Redruth Cornwall Hi Guys, Thanks for a great evening in Truro, its the first time ever that I have seen a tribute band, and I wasn't disappointed. The time went so fast. I was worried that you wasn't going to play my favorite track Take it to the limit, but you didn't let me down. It was all pretty amazing. Hope you come back again to Sunny Cornwall ......... Val Hi Guys just a short note to thank you all for such a great evening. (Frank, Chris owes you at least a beer for no mention in the first half!!) Hall for Cornwall is a 50 mile plus round trip for us, but absolutely worth the trip. Great sound, and some superb guitar riffs from both Chris and Nick, plus, of course, great support from everyone else. Thank you - we'll see you next time you're in Truro ............ Pauline & Steve Switzer Hi guys Just wanted to say what a great evening we had. We hadn't seen you before and we were in awe of your musical and vocal skills as a whole band. We will try and see you at the Polperro festival in June if we can, and bring a few others! Take care and thanks again .... Alli & Big Malc x |
Opera House - Buxton - April - 2010 |
Came along to Buxton after seeing you in Manchester and what a brilliant show in a brilliant theatre. Have seen the Eagles a couple of times but Desperado is as good as it gets without the real band . So much better in a small theatre rather than paying four times the price in a big arena. Vocals were so good and guitar playing out of this world. The standing ovation at the end was truly deserved and will try to get to see you whenever nearby as live music is the best, particularly at these standards. Have seen other Eagles tribute bands but you're top of the league.......Richard, Congleton. Hi Guys, we came all the way from Sweden to be entertained by "what we believe a tribute to Eagles" should be, this was an understatement. We had an fantastic evening. Thanks mate's we will certainly enjoy your cd. All the best ......... Anette & Goran / Sweden Hi fellas! I've just got back to Essex from Buxton today from seeing you perform last night at the Opera House there. (Yes I was probably the only non local that also didn't put my hand up when you asked?) Just wanted to say that after listening to the Eagles for many years, I didn't know just what to expect when my Mum and step Dad surprised me with the tickets to the show. But I was actually blown away! I've seen many top bands in my time and you all were every bit as good as they were. Your voices were spot on, you're all a normal bunch of guys which made it even better and as for Nick Mellor on guitar well...... he's got some serious serious talent and could easily keep up with the greats such as Clapton and Carlos Santana. Steve Ashcroft's vocals were outstanding, Mike Tinsley's bass guitar was fantastic and Chris Brighton complimented all the Eagles tracks he sang.... A brilliant show and I didn't stop singing and tapping my feet all the way through..................Dean Baldwin Purfleet, Essex Hi Guys, just had to write and say what a truly memorable night we had. The Buxton Opera House was a great place to showcase your new “Big Venue” set. All I can say is that you keep raising the bar higher and higher with even tighter harmonies. You even did my two favourites, “I can’t tell you why” and “Best of my Love” so what more can I say. Bigger venues with larger audiences are long overdue for you guys, you just keep getting better and better !!! Look forward to seein you all again soon...... Keep on Rockin Steve & Jill Casey (Glossop) Hi Just returned from the Buxton show (3.4.10).with my friend......would like to say it was great. Very talented musicians....,loved the Don Henley songs too.Just wondered about any Glenn Frey solo ones??Love to know when youre coming back to the area...Regards,Gill. Hi Guys, Got dragged along to the Opera House by my mother tonight.....what a pleasant surprise....you were absolutely brilliant!!! I thought I'd seen some great guitarists in my life, but Nick Mellor blows them all out of the water. Hope you come back to Buxton again soon. Keep up the good work. Kind regards, Louise Swindells |
The Palace - Newark - April - 2010 |
To the Fantastic Desperado ......... you were utterly brilliant last night at your gig in Newark. Last night was first time we (me and the father in law) had seen you but it wont be the last. I've been an Eagles fan for many years and converted my father in law into an Eagles fan 4 years ago by taking him to see a couple of other tribute bands I follow and twice to see the Eagles them selves. We were both blown away by all of your talent both vocally and instrumentally. Shame there wasn't a bigger audience but every body there really seemed to enjoy it and I'm sure word will spread so make sure you come back to this area again. You are an extremely talented band and the vocals and music were spot on, Esppecially enjoyed Dirty Laundry, Hotel California and my personal favourite Desperado. You have gone above our favourite Eagles tribute band in our mind. Again very well done keep up the good work, keep spreading the Eagles message as you looked as if you enjoyed performing as much as we enjoyed watching. Thanks again for a great evening !.......Cheers Tony Price-Mear and David Price ( Mansfield) It was a great night in Newark last night. This is the first time we have seen you play. We have followed other bands such as Talon and the Illegal Eagles. We thoroughly enjoyed your performance. It was real, without the need for you to morph into the actual Eagles. We enjoyed your interpretation of the Eagles music. The singing was excellent from the solo performances to the harmonies etc. Too many tribute bands, not just Eagles acts, make the same mistake every time. They try to copy the music note for note and if I wanted that I would go and see the Eagles themselves. The improvisation that you put into the performance made the night for us. The guitar playing by all was excellent, well produced and unique. All in all, it was money well spent and a very pleasurable evening. Hopefully when you come back, the Theatre will be full (we will tell everyone to come) We are now FANS!!!! Kind regards to all of you........ Peter and Helen Wilkie (Lincoln) We saw your show last night at the Palace Theatre Newark; it was fantastic and brought back my memories of the Eagles! You are all such multi talented musicians with great voices, but we especially enjoyed the incredible guitar playing. I hope you return to Newark next year; I'll be there ............................... Mike Williams |
The Regent - Ipswich - March - 2010 |
Dear Desperado .. We came to see you at the Regent Theatre in Ipswich on Sunday and just wanted you to know we thought you were great! The harmonies were perfect and the musical talent was amazing! We enjoyed the variety of arrangements and particularly liked singing along to 'Heart Ache Tonight'. Lets hope you come back to this area again soon!................................ Best Regards Nicki and Keith Russell We really enjoyed the show at the Ipswich Regent on Sunday, despite the technical hitches, they really didn't spoil what was a great show by some really talented musicians, will certainly come to see you again. . WELL DONE, all the best for the rest of the tour. Enjoying the CD.... Jean and MIck Sumner This was by second time I have seen Desperado ( the last time being July 2009). I treated myself to a late 50th birthady present to see you at Ipswich which was an 112 mile round trip on a sunday night. The new line up was even better than before a truly great night, most people there agreed as was shown by the standing ovation at the end! Thanks Guys - see you soon, |
Kings Theatre -Southsea - March - 2010 |
Hi Guys, We came to see you at Southsea last weekend. I have to say that I was most impressed!! As massive Eagles fans We've seen them live as well as a couple of other Eagles tribute bands. You were truly great - authentic vocal sound, great musicians and even the lighting is very Eagles like. You guys are the full package. We had a great night and we are planning to come and see you again in Chesham and High Wycombe later in the year. Keep up the great work and I hope the rest of the tour goes really well. You deserve to do well - thanks for a very memorable night....................... Alan & Pat Taylor Hi Guys, Saw you at the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth last night and we thought you were absolutely terrific it was definitely "one of those nights". It was such a shame it wasn't better attended but that didn't spoil 1 second of the performance for us. We so hope you will come back again and I'm sure word of mouth will ensure you a full house! The people behind us had seen the Illegal Eagles and they said you were much better - lucky us to have seen you guys. Again, many thanks for a brilliant evening and trust us, we are spreading the word and hopefully your wings...........! Good luck for future gigs many best wishes ............... Carolyn, Les, Una and Jeff xx I've been an Eagles fan for years but bringing up a young family in the seventies meant I never had the chance to see the real thing. Your performance last night was great!! What can I say? First class musicianship coupled with brilliant vocals. It was obvious you were all having a great time up on there on the stage. I love music so much and really do regret giving up on the childhood piano lessons......... Best Wishes Liz Valette Hi guys. Brilliant performance last night at the Kings Theatre Southsea. Thanks for the backstage tour Chris, I still want Nicks 335 (Joke). I only hope the Eagles tribute band I'm putting together sounds as good as you guys eventually.Good luck with the rest of your tour....... Mick Bradley |
Opera House - Manchester - Feb - 2010 |
Came along for what is now our third Desperado gig and I don't know if you can get any better. Have seen the actual Eagles twice at the MEN and if I closed my eyes you were the same but better being in a small theatre and so close. Note perfect and a real treat to hear those genuine guitar sounds and harmonies. A definite 'not to be missed' for any Eagles fans on future gigs who will truly have a memorable night. I have already got my tickets for Buxton at Easter........ Sue and Richard Hi Guys, we saw your show at Manchester Opera House and loved every minute. We have seen the band before and thought they were fantastic and this time round the music and vocals were totally awesome. The lead vocals of Chris and Steve were incredable, especially in the new acoustic section, and you can't fault the musicanship of the entire band. Whether you're an Eagles fan or not you will be impressed and shouldn't miss an opportunity to see this fantastic band. See you again soon love ........ Jo and Victoria xx Thank you for a great night, my husband who is a guitar player and has played in many bands & still has all his gear set up in the spare room, really enjoyed u guys, the Eagles are his favourite band. Hope to see you again next time thx again ......... Helen & Eddie Walsh, Hot music in Manchester on a cold night!! Just wanted to say 'thank you' for a great show. Fantastic exhibition of vocal and guitar skills. Travelled a few miles to see you, looking forward to seeing you more locally soon.................John and Judith from the High Peak |
Floral Pavilion - New Brighton - Feb - 2010 |
Hi, just had to write and say what a brilliant night we had being entertained by the very talented Desperado. Not only were they brilliant musicians but they were really nice guys. We have been lucky enough to see the Eagles on their last tour and enjoyed seeing Desperado just as much. We will look forward to them returning to the Floral Pavilion some time soon..... Pete and Sandy, Wirral Hi Desperado just had a fabulous evening at New Brighton, had to e-mail you to say a huge thankyou, don't remember having such a great time in a while. As massive Eagles fans who has never been fortunate to see them we thoroughly enjoyed your show, just a pity we couldn't see your Desperado sign on stage lit up. Well done to all of you. Just one more thing, our son (19) constantly goes around the house doing "air guitar", watching Mike tonight was like watching our boy, very un-canny. Many thanks again from us both Best Wishes and enjoy the rest of your tour, look forward to seeing you again soon we hope .................. Ann and Graham Norman from Moreton, Wirral. xxx Hi, To all you six great musicians, I was first introduced to the Eagles sound in the early 70's when i was 32 and i still enjoy their music. When i saw that the "Illegal Eagles" were appearing at the Floral on the 27th February i went to book, disappointingly to be told that they were not playing and "Desperado" were playing instead. We booked anyway and i can tell you six lads that you brought tears to my eyes, no you weren't that bad you were absolutely brilliant, i was astounded, we were not expecting such a high quality show. thanks for the great evening. I hope we will meet again soon Regards .................. Ian Woodside Hi Guys I saw you at the Floral Pavilion, New Brighton last night and my partner was stewarding there. What a brilliant night, great vocals and musicianship. You are definitely the best Eagles tribute band we have seen. Please come back again soon. Thanks once again .................. Robbie & Irene Hi Guys, just to let you know that my wife and I really enjoyed the show Saturday 27/02/10 at The Floral Pavilion New Brighton..Chris and Dave were superb, you should make the line up more permenant.Having played guitar [rythm and lead] in a few minor local bands, since 1960 I can appreciate the craftsman guitarist skills of Nick. With the rest of the band complimenting the overall Eagles Sound. I think Desperado are stars in their own right . Thanks for a really enjoyable night ............ Regards Mal Roberts Hi Desperado, I would just like to say what a superb night we had listening to you boys at the Floral Pavillion, New Brighton last Saturday, you were all fantastic. Nick was sensational, he can certainly make that guitar sing, we especially enjoyed Dirty Laundry and Hotel C. Please come back again soon to the Floral ........ Many Thanks Phil and Joan (Chester) |
Little Theatre - Leicester - Feb - 2010 |
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance at the Little Theatre in Leicester. The sound system was very impressive and the group captured the original 'Eagles' style perfectly. We have seen the Eagles in London and Birmingham and Desparado are, in our view on this performance, equal to the original band. The guitarist is absolutely brilliant, the vocals are excellent, the new drummer performed well and the group combined effectively, to produce a faultless performance, capturing the quality of the Eagles. We will definately be back to the next performance in, or near Leicestershire. A great evening! ............... Paul and Cilla It was, I think, the fifth time I had seen the band when I came to the show last night and I have to say what an absolute pleasure it was to enjoy your faultless performance in such a quality setting. You continue to move the band relentlessly forward and the quality of the musicianship, vocals and stage craft you all demonstrated last night was unsurpassed in my experience. The sound quality was excellent too and was very obviously mixed by a Sound Engineer blessed with a fine set of ears. The icing on the cake for me was to hear the opening chords of Pretty Maids (my fave Eagles track of all time) and I'm not ashamed to admit that I did shed a few tears as a result. I honestly don't remember the last time a musical performance moved me to that degree. Truly humbling!! You should all be very proud of the band and I look forward to seeing another of your shows very soon. Onward and upward.....................................Neil Thompson Just got back from the show at the Little Theatre in Leicester and wanted to say what a fantastic night yet again! Although a slightly different line up from last time you were here, still the same fabulous sound. We brought our friends and our 10 year old daughter along this time who also really enjoyed it (although she was looking forward to hearing some songs from Long Road out of Eden which you didn't do this time, as it is her favourite - she's a bit young for some of the others!). Thanks again to all of you and hope to be able to see you again soon ............... Karen, Mick and Katie Just wanted to pass on our thanks to Desperado for the wonderful gig last night at the Little Theatre, Leicester. The music was fantastic, all the golden oldies of the Eagles, a refreshing tribute to the band. The whole evening was an absolute delight, having been an avid Eagles fan since very young, and brought up with their music since the early seventies by my parents - who I brought along as a treat. Well done, and keep going, it was a joy to hear you, and you did it so well. Come back soon, we will definately come back to see you again and would love to bring more friends and family along. Thankyou! ........... Bev Herbert Leicester Came to your concert last night. Feb 26th.Little Theatre.Leicester.Saw you last time as well. BRILLIANT,BRILLIANT,BRILLIANT .......... Sheila Strong |
Congress Theatre - Eastborne - Feb - 2010 |
We came to the Desperado show on Saturday 6th February to cheer ourselves up during this bleak winter. It was a fabulous evening with a great atmosphere and music that was skillfully performed and true to the original versions. When you come see to a tribute band what you want is to hear the original - close your eyes and that is what you get with Desperado. The bass riffs were true, the rhythm was spot on and as for the guitar solos - brilliant! Then to top it all the vocals raised the show to the pinnacle as a fabulous tribute to the originals Go and see them - you will not be disappointed......... Josie & Bob Cavendish WOW ...... where have you guys been ? I have to say we came along expecting a decent evening because of where you were performing. But you delivered 2 great sets of Eagles songs so brilliantly that we were just gobsmacked. Everything was there, so expertly played and sung that the Eagles themselves would have applauded. Well done guys it was a real pleasure to be so genuinely suprised by the quality of the evening. We'll be back !! ......................... Pete Merritt and co Hi there! Just a word or two to thank you all so much for an absolutely wonderful evening - it was superb, just wish we could have filled the theatre a bit more for you. But everyone there had a brilliant time, and please come back and see us again very soon. Naturally will tell everyone I know what a fab evening they missed!! Have a marvellous, very successful tour - you deserve all the praise you are bound to get!! Kind regards and many thanks again .................... I already have most of the Eagles stuff on CD but I bought the Desperado's disc anyway –they were that good! Look forward to seeing the band again soon........ Chris Morris, Eastbourne Hi there! Tickets for your gig were a spur of the moment thing. But what a good idea! BRILLIANT NIGHT! Thank you... Lynn X |
Theatre on the Steps - Bridgnorth - Nov - 2009 |
Chaps .... Great Night Saturday !!! How Long? – Two hours plus of pure and unashamed nostalgic JOY – Packed House, Cold Beer and Fabulous Tunes delivered by a Confident but not cocky gem of an outfit – such a fine sight to see. It struck me during this night of delight that the core outfit of Desperado is now SO comfortable together that any Dep can just slot in and hitch a ride down that desert highway with absolute ease(y)... and the two new boys, did just that!! Our party included 6, yes 6!! “Desperado Virgins” – who were ALL sensually de-flowered and are now ruined for any other Eagles trib forever... when you’ve been had by the best, who needs the rest? The heart of the matter is, that Desperado are a great night out, whatever your age, creed, gender, or genre – each time there is something new to admire. Partic highlights for me this time included “Wasted Time” Mr B on voice perfecto, The Joe W pair of Rocky Mountain Way and Life’s been Good (axes rampant from Nick and Chris) and The perennial anthems of L’Hotel C and Take it Easy... hell, It was ALL great... I hope by now you’ve realised... WE LOVED IT ...... Beers and Lady M |
Mr Kyps -Poole - Nov - 2009 |
............ highlights for me were Joe Walshes "Lifes been Good and Rocky Mountain Way" Heartache Tonight, Life in the Fast Lane and a sublime One of these Nights containing a superb solo by Nick the lead Guitarist-an absolute virtuoso (Guitar magazines Guitarist of the Year 2002!) He was the standout member of the band for me - his meaty guitar playing capturing the unique Eagles sound. Chris the lead singer did a good job of a Henleyesque type voice. By the end, with the crowd eating out of their hand and baying for more their encore of The Long Run and the eponymous soulful version of Desperado was a fitting finish. This band have an easy way about them and obviously really love what they do............ Andrew Booth ..........The band replicated the distinctive Eagles harmonies and musicianship to a tee and even a replacement drummer at the last minute did not dampen the sound. They played the popular classics such as Take it to the Limit, Heartache tonight, Life in the fast lane, Tequila Sunrise and Take it easy and one of my favourite ballads Heart of the Matter. The band played a great mix of songs including How Long from the Eagles most recent album Long Road out of Eden and the Don Henley solo Boys of Summer, plus the Joe Walsh solo Life’s been good . I was really impressed with how close they performed everything to the originals and the band really seemed to be enjoying themselves on stage...............Andy Howlett |
Eastgate Theatre -Peebles - Oct - 2009 |
Dear All, just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you for such a fantastic gig in Peebles last week. The fact that you managed to get any reaction out of the Peebles crowd is testament to your incredible performance. Nick's guitar playing was simply astonishing- I've never seen fingers move so fast. This was our kids` first gig and Molly and Harry absolutely LOVED it. They have been playing your CD non-stop ever since and Harry is driving us up the wall playing pots and pans with wooden spoons since Del said that's how he got started out- thank god we managed to prise the knitting needles off him in time!! They took your CD into school for their show and tell so I think you're guaranteed a more lively, and younger audience if you ever come back to Peebles- loads of people just didn't know you were coming. Cheers.................................................................................Kirsty We enjoyed your show in Peebles last week – Hugely !! A great sound and very entertaining. Even though the band works brilliantly, you made it a great night by adding a touch of humour ( Peebles Left Delroy !) Some superb stuff in there, always liked the Eagles but you have re-kindled our interest. You all work very hard at getting it spot on and it shows. Oh and Nick, I did return home after the show and get my 335 out of it’s case, but as I had feared, it didn’t quite sound the same as yours, but it will be fun working on it. We look forward to seeing you back here again some time. Thanks .......... David and Margaret Neilson. Hi guys, was at your concert last night, magnificent from start to finish.Hope you enjoyed Peebles and look forward to welcoming you back, cheers again ....................................................Norry. |
The Academy Theatre - Barnsley - Oct - 2009 |
Thanks for the show last night. I must admit I wasn't expecting you to be that good ! You were superb from start to finish. it was great to see a group of tallented musicians obviously enjoying themselves playing such a marvelous selection of songs. The addition of Joe Walsh and Don Henley numbers was an added bonus and has led to me logging on to Amazon to add a few CDs to my collection. I'm looking forward to your return next year..................................................... Andy and Kate Holmes Thanks for a fabulous gig at Birdwell last night. We were sitting on the 'Barnsley Right' side. Brilliant musicianship and singing throughout - new members are great assets to the band. Glad there was a full house - great atmosphere. You guys looked like you were really having fun on stage - and so were we! Keep on rockin' and see you next time! Gary & Jean (Barlborough) xx Thanks for last night lads at Birdwell. Great musicians and great vocals look forward to seeing you again next time you are in Birdwell. The Forum - Darlington - Oct - 2009 |
Hey guys hope you enjoyed your food in Darlington today! I was the waiter who served you in the cafe, hope you had a safe journey to Barnsley! All the best - I dont mind The Eagles myself - we have their "Eden" album on our ipod at work I should've put it on while you were in, had I known earlier! Take care .............................................................................Dean Ball Hello guys, My wife, Jean and I went to your gig at The Forum Music Centre, Darlington last night, we enjoyed the night very much. I only have one Eagles album in my collection - probably because I have been mainly a Beach Boys & Brian Wilson fan. The song 'Desperado' has always meant a lot to me as it speaks to my heart & emotions. My wife also enjoyed your playing and the songs. I've read some comment others have sent in, one said that you have an authentic Eagles sound - I agree. I think the Eagles must be about the best band to come from the Southern California Scene. Thank you very much for your hard work and for a wonderful entertaining show. I wish you continued success now and in the future. Cheers....... Anthony |

The Wharf - Tavistock - August - 2009 |
Hi Guys, Wanted to let you know we had a fabulous time @ The Wharf last Saturday. I was in a group of seven and we all thought you were FANTASTIC.Great Music, Great Humour,Great Show, just sorry we had to dash and relieve our young child sitter and couldn't stop to chat. Next time you're in Tavistock we'll be there ........................................................................Gem :-) Hi there, Chris and the band. Just wanted to say what a fantastic evening we all had at The Wharf, Tavistock, on Saturday 22nd August. My partner and I are big Eagles fans and I can't imagine that even if the real thing was on the stage we would have come away any happier.............. The choice of songs (including the Don Henley and Joe Walsh numbers) was inspired, the musicianship brilliant (Nick's solos were awesome) and the hamonies spot on. Altogether you were simply superb, and the fact that you were all clearly enjoying yourselves made it such a special night at a great venue. Desperado show just how good a tribute band can be, and for two and a half hours entertainment of the highest standard for little more than a tenner each, what more could anyone ask. We particularly liked the good-natured banter within the band and with the audience. We'll definitely be looking out for return visits. Highly recommended to all lovers of good music! ............................... Pete, Kathy, Liz and Keith Great to see Desperado again here in Tavistock. The new line up works well and lots of banter too! What happened to the Desperado banner? Did you forget it again?!! Great show and will come and see you again next time "the Eagles" roll into Tavistock.................................................................................................................................................................. Jude & Ness Hi guys, it's 12.45 am in the small hours & we've just returned home from your brilliant gig at "The Wharf" in Tavistock, Devon on 22nd August. We just wanted to make contact to say what a great night out we've just had - you are better than "note perfect", adding some extra spice & lead guitar work to some of the classic Eagle tracks. Cannot recommmend your show highly enough to any Eagles fan out there, or quite simply to any live music fan. Your musicianship as a band is second to none. The guitar work of Nick & Chris - boy can you guys rattle those strings! was superb, Delroy on drums "fantastic" - you are a cool dude with a great stage presence, and Mike & Frank with excellent bass & keyboards to complete the perfect set. Hi Chris, Just like to say many thanks for another great night It was the third time we have seen you at the Wharf, and every one just as good as the last. It was good to hear a few different songs and the Seven Bridges Road at the end of the night was fantastic. We did miss the Ozzie impressions etc but hope that Dave is better, so please pass on best wishes for the future. Dear Chris and the band, We had our first gig at the Tavistock Wharf last night and it was just fantastic. We`ve been Eagles fans for years and have seen them on several occasions. The big venues are getting a bit boring when you can`t see any of the band and it costs a lot of money to go. So we were looking forward to seeing Desperados last night. It was so good to be up and close and we thought you played and entertained brilliantly. It was also extremely good value for money. Just a great night so thanks very much. Looking forward to your next visit down here .............................................................. Francis and Jenny Came to see you all last nite in Tavistock and can honestly say you were fantastic. Haven't enjoyed seeing anyone as much as you for a long time. Looking forward to when you come back in December coz we WILL be there. Thank you ..... Linda Hi Chris Many thanks for allowing me to photograph you at Tavistock Wharf last night. I thorooughly enjoyed the show and will definately come and see you next time you are in the South West................................................................................... Steve Clark Hey, You guys were amazing!! Brilliant night, me, my dad and friend loved it! I'm definitely to see you again next time you're in Tavistock! We were right at the front, and were deafened, but that didnt stop us singing Eagles songs all the way home. I think I was the youngest person there, I'm only 15, but a massive Eagles fan! When you dedicated one of the songs to the parents who got night away from their kids, my dad said he only brought me along because it was cheaper than a baby-sitter, I hope he was joking! Your all sooooo talented! Thanks for a great night .................................................................................... Charlie Hall. Guys What a fantastic night last night! We last saw you about four years ago. We think your new members to the band compliment it very well. Delroy, the list of compliments for you is vast!! We went with new friends and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves - Thank you. We will definitely come and see you again. Fab, Fab, evening! Del, we did have babysitters waiting but found it so difficult to leave! ........................................................................................................................................... Michelle x Hi Guys, really enjoyed the show last night, you ROCKED the joint!! My partner Alan has mocked the Eagles for ages, but he is now singing from the rooftops! What a talented bunch you are, please come back to this area soon (maybe Plymouth as well?). We would definitely bring along a group of friends/family and my guitar playing son, Alex, would be in awe of your ability and professionalism. You made my night with "Get over it", first time I have heard it played live and so brilliantly! Thanks for a superb show. ............................................................................................................................................ Much Respect Lesley and Alan. Well! I saw you at Tavistock last evening and thought you were really GREAT! Looking at your web site you certainly get around. Thank you for cheering me up in this awful economic clime!! ............................................... Best wishes Teresa Hughes. Thanks for a brilliant performance....you guys are great.....looking forward to the next time........................................... Pat x Hi guys Just to say, what a fantastic gig...we danced all night...you rocked! Will defo come and see you again when you're back in the west country!............................................................................................................................................ luv faithie and pamy x x |
Pavilion Theatre - Rhyl - July - 2009 |
Just returned from a fantastic night at the theatre thanks to you 5 guys. I personally am not an Eagles fan but do like some of their music. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the night and will certainly come to see you again whether it is in Rhyl which is where I live now or in Birmingham where I originate from. It is such a shame that so few people attended and I am sorry for that but I know that the ones that were there had a superb night. Hope you all got home safely. Look forward to your next visit. Regards and thanks. ........................................................................................................................................................... Olga Hi guys, i've seen most of the eagles tribute bands around & while they were all very good i think you guys have the edge. i personally prefer the rock stuff more but still enjoy the ballads. Maybe you guys would consider putting GET OVER IT in your set . My partner and i will only sing your praises and will keep a lookout for your return. it's a great pity that more people didn't turn up. Good luck for the future and thanks for a very entertaining evening. Yours Mr Vic Waggett. p.s , i play guitar myself and know just how hard you guys work. |
The Arts Centre - Haverhill - July - 2009 |
Would like to let you know how much I thoroughly enjoyed the show last week. Absolutely Brilliant. I think you started back again after the fire alarm really well as it must have been difficult getting the atmosphere back as we had all just started joining in before it went off. The drummer has a great personality very quick witted ha. Please come to Haverhill again ... Luv Pat Hi Guys. Great show last Friday night at Haverhill, I was fortunate to see the Eagles last year at the O2 and thought you sounded very authentic!!!!!!. Great vocals and guitar. Best regards ....................................................................................Richard To all the band, just one word - Brilliant...and thanks for finishing the gig after the fire alarm went off........................Keith Rose Hi from sunny Newmarket (near 'Averhill) not! Just had to say how much we enjoyed your gig last friday. Loved the good humour and banter, fire drill not so much though! Great to hear some different numbers from those played by other Eagles tributes we have seen. Life really was good last friday!! Look forward to seeing you next time in Hhhhaverhill........ Rocky Hi guys. My friends my wife and I did a 100mls round trip to see you at "Avrill" and it was worth every penny. You were GREAT entertainment even with the bloody fire alarm shambles ( good scam that making the smoke machine set the alarm off so you didn't have to do the full set ) ONLY JOKING !!!!!!!!! You had a good mix of songs, we all liked the acoustic song towards the end ( 7 bridges road I think it was ) Hope we get to see you again around this neck of the wood's soon......... Rodders & Celia Hi guys. I saw you last night at Haverhill for the first time and was really knocked-out by your playing. The thing that impressed me the most was the way you picked up Rocky Mountain Way at the point where you left it after the fire alarm break. Thanks for a great night and hope you come back this way again soon......................................................................................... Paul Hi guys, I took my 13 year old son to your concert at Haverhill on 24th July. I've been following the Eagles music since the 70s but never had the chance to see them live either because I was too young or too poor or both! So when I heard you guys were playing fairly local I booked the tickets straight away. Somewhere on the blurb it said you were note perfect, I did not think this was possible but it certainly was. A truly brilliant display of musicianship and some great music. Dear Desperados, Thanks for a grand night out in Averhill, sorry Haverhill. Apologies for the interruption in the second half. I only had a little puff in the gents (*). We talked to Chris and Nick in the car park - Hendrix played right-handed guitars "upside down", rather than re-stringing. We hope to see you again in Haverhill! All the best, ...... (* - joke!) ..... David and Christine HI You Lot!! Well we saw you last night in lovely old Haverhill and had a bloody fantastic night ,my mate and I really enjoyed ourselves a lot We were very impressed with the music a great line up of guitars all played with such passion and the whole band just oozed Talent and you all seemed to love playing together so much too ,the key boards were brilliant and the drummer was superb too So please come on back soon ,we will definatley book front row tickets and bring back a load more of us too. The incident with the fire alarm and the evacuation just made it more fun and it was good you came back for more too. Keep it up , you are all tops !!!! Thanks for a great evening !! ..............................................................Julie and Carol (Haverhill) Hi went to the fri 24th gig in sunny Haverhill and it was soooooooooooooooooo good,,, hope u come back again but this time without the interuption of fire alarm LOL LOL ............................................................................................................ Lesley xx GREAT SHOW TONIGHT GUYS, SHAME ABOUT THE FIRE DRILL. WILL COME TO SEE YOU AGAIN ... Carol Braley |
