The Limelight - Crewe - 25 May - 2008

First chance I've had to say what a BRILLIANT gig you and the guys put on at the Limelight last weekend!! It was so enjoyable - not just because of the skilful music playing/singing, but because it was really good-humoured - Dave in particular! The band works really well together, and whereas with some bands I see you could say...'oh...the lead guitarist was brilliant, or 'the drummer was amazing', with you guys you're ALL stand-out acts in my eyes.

I reckon you've made friends for the future there and despite what you thought about it being a low turnout night, I think you
pulled in every person who was out that night looking for entertainment and they'll want to see you play again, as I do, I'm sure. I thought the new stuff worked really well, so; good thinking about its inclusion in the set! My favourite is 'Somebody' and if I could play rhythm & vocals on that, (no chance of lead!) - I'd die a happy man!......................................................Stephen Potts

Hi Chris - just to say THANKS for a fantastic night's entertainment. Even though it must have been a tiring (putting it politely of course) journey from Merthyr Tydfil you didn't fail to impress and the comments in your earlier email were borne out - the changes are certainly FOR THE BETTER. Don't know where you got Dave from but he's certainly an excellent frontman. I definitely won't wait for another two years before I see you again and have already told my brother we're going to Stourbridge to see you in August. Please pass on my sincerest thanks to everyone for a brilliant night.......................................Chris Brant xx

Hello all, Christine and I got back home just after 1am this morning, but we had a great time. Loved the impressions Dave, keep em coming... Thanks for the dedications Chris, we loved all the songs, my current fave being 'Somebody' from the new album. Hope you are feeling better soon Glen. Fantastic bass playing Rod, and of course what wonderful guitar sounds.... Too many great numbers to mention but we will see you all again soon. In the meantime we will watch your new DVD and listen to your album. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us afterwards. Until next time, all the best ........................................ The Wharf - Tavistock - 16 February - 2008

Hi Lads, Just wanted to let you know the show you put on was second to none, extremely professional and so close to the sound of the Eagles themselves. On leaving the show I can tell you that the management stated, that of all the bands that have been at the Wharf you were the best to date, high praise indeed and very worthy. The comments made by the manager were reiterated members of the public as we walked to our cars. Considering some of the members were relatively new to the band you appear to have gelled well, again highlighted by the quality of the performance given that evening.
I hope you return in the not to distant future, where I am sure there will be an even bigger crowd to cheer you on. We wish every success for the future and hope greater things beckon................................................................Regards Gerry and Jannine.

Saw you all at Tavistock Wharf on Saturday night. What a show,... it was like having the Eagles playing in my living room. Next time you come down, don't forget the banner!! Nice to meet you all after the show too. Nice bunch of guys. If anyone is reading this and has not been to see Desperado, go now!.............................................................................................................Jude and Ness

We saw you at Tavistock on Saturday and thought you were fantastic. We are great fans of Talon another tribute band and have seen them several times, but feel you are going to give Talon a run for their money and you are going to be just as good if not better. Keep going. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Regards.................................................................. Suzanne.

The Sands - Gainsborough - 2 February - 2008

Just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for a fantastic performance last night at the Sands. We were the noisy bunch on the balcony, who left it too late to get a table downstairs!!! Hope to see you back in Gainsborough, the Sands is a pretty special place and you made it seem like the Eagles were performing in our own front room. Thanks again Kay, Mark, Sue, Paul, Jackie, Chris, Maria and Dougie

Hi Guys, I saw you at the Sands Venue last night (Sat 2nd Feb) and thought you were excellent. I have to confess that I'm not a huge Eagles fan, and it was my husband who bought the tickets so didn't know quite what to expect. Thanks again for a great night and hope Dave gets better (although he looked very well from my angle).........................................................Tracie

The Horn - St Albans - 19 January - 2008

Hi guys; My throat has just recovered! In fact on Monday when I came to work, I was so croaky they thought I was coming down with the dreaded lurgy. I sung my little heart out on Saturday & had a great time. Eagles music has played a major part in the sound track to my life & finally hearing the tunes live was a thrill. I couldn't afford their 2007 Twickenham gig & probably won't get to the O2 either - but I don't mind! Listeing to your slick performance was enough . You are certainly right up there as one of the best tribute bands around.

It's cramped & sweaty, but I really like the Horn as a venue & I hope you found the reception warm enough to encourage a return in the near future. Fingers x'd, you will all be 'on song' next time & can pick up where you left off, performing the other classics you couldn't do (like Desperado!). Can I be so bold & make a request? Learn 'last good time in town' from the latest album - my current favourite! Thanks again for a truly memorable night of pure musical class. I will make sure to bring along my other Eagles pals next time too - it'll be a blast …............................................................................................. Kind regards, Alan

Just had to write and let you know how much David and I enjoyed the evening in St Albans.
You are all terrific, of course, but we had the special reason for being there...Dave Thompson! To meet up after so many years, and to be entertained so brilliantly, went to make the evening a very memorable occasion. Thanks to all of you for your fantastic playing - and thank you Dave for making me feel special.......................................................................................... Nadine

The Barn - Illminster - 12 January - 2008

Best wishes.........................................................................Steve

Theatre on the Steps - Bridgnorth - 16/17 November- 2007

Hi guys, Just to say we saw the show at the Theatre on the Steps on Saturday and it was phenomenal. SUCH a professional, polished performance, absolute perfection. Are the Eagles actually better than you? Jury may be out . ..........................................................................................................................Lizzz x

Hadn't seen the band before but I'd heard a lot of good things about you. Friday night's gig was brilliant. It's great to see a tribute band that includes all the lovely subtle, skilful bits you know and love from the original. Vocally superb and musically polished, I particularly enjoyed 'End of the Innocence', the guitar work by Chris and Nick in 'Hotel California' and Frank's piano complementing Chris's heartfelt rendition of 'Desperado'. We had a great time and what an idiosyncratic venue!!..................................................................... Jacqui

Hi guys, Came to see you Friday night at The Theatre on the Steps, fantastic show, particularly liked 'Victim of Love' and the new single 'How Long' of course. You might remember we spoke afterwards, I said I had seen you as the Long Run. Our paths will definitly cross again. See you soon.............Sharon. x

Had a brill night, the band are quite superb in all the music played, pass on our best wishes to all the lads and look forward to seeing you again Regards............................................. Phil&Sheila Gutteridge.

Hi, Band HOT.. Show HOT.. Room Freezing ha ha.. Thanks for a great night out. Look forward to seeing you in the near future. Rock on.................................................................................... Tony&Lin.

Just got home after your show - still buzzing - have not enjoyed a night like this for a long time. Show was absolutely brilliant - very professionally done. Don't lose the wit and rapport - it went down very well with the audience and made your performance unique. Keep giving performances like you gave tonight.
If you have a moment, could you please let me know when you are in this neck of the woods again as I would like to treat my daughter and son in law to one of your performances (with us along also!)
Thank you all for such a wonderful evening........................................... Jeff and Pat Preston

Hiya Lads! Thanx for a brilliant evening ... I cant wait to see you again, loved the Joe Walsh songs and the humour too. All Eagles songs were 'spot on' and I will be telling everyone to come and support you wherever you play! Excellent, excellent, excellent...you certainly have the X Factor!
Best wishes................................................................................................. Sheels, Ludlow.xxx

Hello 'Desperado'! I'm sending this on behalf of my parents and myself who annoyed and harrassed you last night after thoroughly enjoying your very fine performance at the Theatre on the Steps, sorry about that, we love The Eagles and tend to get a bit carried away! So, just a note to say thank you for visiting our obscure and unsung little hamlet, please come again, we'll behave I promise! We really enjoyed your show, shame there's not more room, we could have had a proper dance, that would have warmed us all up! All the best for the next show, hope the audience appreciate you as much as we did. Keep rocking, with your current line-up I have every confidence that you'll be selling out wherever you go, we're right behind you.
All the best................................................................................................... Naomi, and Mom & Dad, aka Karen and Alan

Hello to you all. Saw you for the first time last night at Bridgnorth with friends, a great evening, thoroughly enjoyed the show, each of you are you very talented, we shall certainly be spreading the word to others to see your show!
best wishes to you all, once again a great night, thankyou............... Keith and Rosemary Rowland ( Worcester)

Hi Guys. Thanks for a very enjoyable evening. It was a great performance. As an Eagle's fan I was very impressed with the show. Well done!........................................................................ Diane Jones

We had a brilliant night and it was the best £10 I have spent in ages.We all agreed what a fantastic band you are. Keep up the good work will definitly see you all again........................Malcolm Penny

Hi Guys. Your concert was our 'family Christmas do'. We all love music, especially live music and try to get to the music concerts at the Little Theatre. We throroughly enjoyed your performance. Excellent musicianship and lovely harmonies. Fantastic value at £10 per ticket, I think you should be at least £15:00, maybe £20.00.
One complaint though ........ my fiancee was so inspired that she has come home and picked up her guitar for the first time in ages and now won't shut up!!!!! Thanks a lot guys! Keep up the good work and we will be looking out for you again............................................................................................... Steve Hewitt

Loved the show - great arrangements, polished instrumentals, cracking rapport, excellent sound engineering and so-o-o-o-o-o evocative - took me right back to my long-haired spotty youth, lusting after the dark-haired siren from Accounts with a reputation for easy lovin'! I was intrigued by the extras from Terminator which were moonlighting as the light show, but from what Frank told me about the cost of rental and programming, I'd recommend sticking to Old Skool lighting. It would be more in keeping with the vintage of most of your material, and your whole performance is so professional (whilst appearing laid back) that it easily stands up alone - you don't need the gizmos and I don't think they add greatly to the audience's experience. One very minor moan; your early segue cut short my favourite Eagles song - Lyin' Eyes - but overall it was a blast and I'll definitely be coming to future gigs...............................................................................................................Cheers, John Butler

Hi guys, saw your performances at both the Diamond Club at Sutton in Ashfield and more recently at the Theatre on the Steps in Bridgnorth. Your complete set was absolutely awesome. You're definitely one of the best live bands I've seen in recent times. I'll definitely be looking to attend another gig before too long. well done! ......................................................................................................................Steve Palmerini

Coors Visitor Centre - Burton - 31 Aug - 2007

Desperado take it beyond the limit…I found out a long time ago, what a women can do to your soul… AND we found out on Friday 31st August at The Coors Visitor Centre Burton on Trent what an array bloody great music The Eagles have in their locker, and what a DAMN FINE job of playin’ it DESPERADO make !!! … This outfit continues to grow in stature and gets better and better EVERY time I have the pleasure of seeing them – If it feels good it’s gotta do you good – IT FELT REAL GOOD.................................................Beers

Thanks for tonight - we really enjoyed it. The band were GREAT!.........Sue H

Great gig, Fab vocals. New guitarist excellent. Good choice of songs, perfect encore....Jon R

The sound in the first half was perfect - really great job from the mixer guys. The sound overall was fantastic. The band were excellent - easily the best I've seen. They could benefit from promoting themselves - where is their next gig? Well done Ian - really glad you booked them....................................Phil S

Thoroughly enjoyed the night - thought the band were great - top musicians and great harmonies ............  Best yet at CVC !............................................................................................................. Mike S

Thought DESPERADO were actually the best tribute band I've ever seen (including Royal Family, Bootleg Beatles and everyone else we had at Ludlow) - they were excellent, would love to see them again. Am also happy to recommend them to Ludlow Festival for next year (unless they've already booked a band for the final concert - but even if they have we could possibly look at other festival venues to include in Fringe festival?). Will speak to the events organiser asap and let you know.....................................................Liz R
