A trained classical guitarist since the Age of Steam, Rod turned to the darkside, and picked up his first bass some 30 years ago. At the request of Glenn He stood in as temporary, one gig only, replacement 10 years ago and never left, much to the benefit of the band, I’m pretty sure they have stopped looking for a replacement now… This six string kid on custom built Shuker, can drive a bass line with the best of them. It’s a real shame that Eagles music rarely features funky slap bass, but he more than makes up for that with his opening riff to “One of These Nights” featured in the current Desperado set list. His seemingly effortless bottom end control and backing vocals underpins the whole sound. Rod is a keen golfer & “Trekkie” so will obviously live long and prosper…
